Witnesses have told Action News Jax that they reported hearing three to four gunshots near the scene around 8:15 p.m. Action News Jax is at the scene working to gather more details to learn if anyone was shot.
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A large police presence has been observed in the Murray Hill area due to a reported shooting near Dancy St. and Post St.According to updates from a concerned parent, the incident involved teenagers, with one witness, a 15-year-old, reportedly witnessing his 17-year-old best friend being shot. The assailant allegedly approached the victim and then fled the scene.
At present, the condition of the victim has not been disclosed, as next of kin have yet to be notified. Eye-witnesses reported hearing approximately four to five gunshots around 8:30 pm, prompting a swift response from law enforcement. As the investigation unfolds, police have been seen questioning individuals at the scene, including the teenage witness.A police helicopter can be seen circling the area.
