CEBU, Philippines — The defending champions University of the Visayas Green Lancers and the University of Cebu Webmasters kept their unbeaten records intact in the Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation, Inc. Season 23 Men’s Basketball Tournament last Saturday at the Cebu Coliseum.
It was cruise control for the Lancers from there onwards resulting into a 26-point blowout of the baffled Jaguars. The Webmasters, on the other hand, remained unscathed after three starts with an 84-68 thrashing of the Cebu Roosevelt Memorial Colleges Mustangs. In the juniors division, the University of Cebu Lapu-Lapu and Mandaue stretched their historic run to five games in a row after whipping their sister-team UC Baby Webmasters, 67-51, while the reigning titleholders Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu Magis Eagles improved to 3-1 after escaping past the USPF Baby Panthers via the slimmest of margins, 59-58.
The Cebu City Treasurer's Office has reminded the general public and business owners to settle their dues for the last quarter of the year, as soon as possible.
