Police: Lake Zurich driver killed in crash with tree

A 24-year-old man from Lake Zurich died after crashing his car into a tree early Sunday, according to the Lake Zurich Police Department. Police said the driver, identified as Kevin Rediger, was traveling east on Pheasant Ridge Drive at 2:07 a.m. when he lost control of his car and hit a tree. He was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, which happened near Pheasant Ridge Drive and Red Bridge Road, according to police.A passenger in the vehicle was taken to Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
The Lake Zurich Police Department Traffic Safety Division and the Lake County Major Crash Assistance Team are investigating the crash.
