BENGUET’S ADOPTED SON. House Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez raises a copy of the resolution declaring him as an adopted son of the municipality of La Trinidad, Benguet. The resolution passed by the Sangguniang Bayan of La Trinidad, Resolution was presented to the Speaker by officials of La Trinidad led by Mayor Romeo Salda who lbestowed the name “Batakagan,” meaning “Brightest Star” to the Speaker.
La Trinidad Mayor Romeo Salda, along with other officials of the municipality—the capital of Benguet province—presented a copy of the resolution to Romualdez as he was spearheading the launch of the cash and rice distribution program held at the Benguet Sports Complex. The Sangguniang Bayan said the people of La Trinidad are very much honored to welcome Romualdez, who was in the municipality Sunday to lead the launch in the province of the Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair program of the administration of President Marcos.“His noble intention and effort to visit and show support to the constituents of the municipality of La Trinidad deserve recognition worthy as a son,” the resolution stated.
