Pero Burrows explicó que, debido a que el comité es de naturaleza cuasi judicial, los testigos testificarán en sesiones ejecutivas cerradas. El comité de investigación formado por tres personas también está compuesto por el representante demócrata de El Paso, Joe Moody, y Eva Guzmán, una republicana que anteriormente se desempeñó como miembro de la Corte Suprema de Texas."Cuando los problemas son tan complejos y lo que está en juego es extremadamente importante, primero necesitamos hechos", dijo Moody.
La información más reciente contradice los relatos anteriores del gobernador Greg Abbott y DPS, que primero dijeron que un oficial de recursos escolares enfrentó al tirador de 18 años antes de su entrada.
