'I didn't believe the gunshots were actually his until I got a phone call,' Dominick Black testified, 'and...he just said, 'I shot somebody, I shot somebody.''
A friend of Kyle Rittenhouse who bought him the rifle allegedly used to shoot three men, two of them fatally, in Kenosha, Wisconsin, last year, at first didn't believe Rittenhouse fired the shots, the Associated Press reported.
Rittenhouse is accused of shooting Kyle Rosenbaum, Anthony Huber and Gaige Grosskreutz. Rosenbaum and Huber died from their injuries, while Grosskreutz was severely wounded. The defense is arguing that Rittenhouse shot the men in self-defense. "I didn't believe the gunshots were actually his until I got a phone call," Black said,"and I answered it, and he just said, 'I shot somebody, I shot somebody.'"While on the stand, Black said that the military rifle was his idea, saying that he thought nobody would want to mess with Rittenhouse if he had one. He also claims that the accused murderer gave out medical aid to wounded protesters before the shootings.
Washington said he followed Rittenhouse because he saw him earlier that evening and thought he seemed like an"interesting figure."
