Especially in the absence of needed mandates coming out of Trenton and with the Supreme Court looking poised to put a hold on the Biden administration’s vaccinate-or-test mandate for large employers, we applaud DeGise’s gumption. For their sakes, we hope it does. We all are – or should be -- beaten down by the grim statistics and don’t want to hear about another unnecessary death or see another grieving family on the 11 o’clock news or social media asking the unvaccinated to learn from their loved one’s mistake.

Before any of that potential fallout, though, we join DeGise in encouraging the unvaccinated to do the wise thing and take the shot.
