Kudlow made the comments to reporters on the sidelines of the U.S. Export-Import Bank annual conference as China and the United States negotiate a trade deal to ease eight months of tensions between the world’s two largest economies. U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer and Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin arrived in Beijing on Thursday for a fresh round of trade talks with Chinese officials. The negotiations will be followed by a round held in Washington next week.
