A St. George woman has a business that aims to counteract crispy hair and thirsty skin with hair and skin products made from a true desert ingredient – cactus.
ST. GEORGE — If you find your hair crispy and your skin thirsty from the desert heat, you're not alone.
Jenna Stinger is the founder of Desert Goddess, a business that aims to counteract those issues with hair and skin products made from a true desert ingredient – cactus. "I've always just loved plants, as you can see," Stinger said, pointing to the many plants growing in her front room. "Over the years, I learned about herbal medicine and what plants can really do for you naturally and it fascinates me."
Helping her husband with his landscaping business, Stinger took it upon herself to learn about every plant she could while dedicating her life to being a full-time mom. By the time her kids were grown, she found herself in search of a new purpose and something to call her own. With her many daily walks in the desert, she found herself constantly drawn back to the cactus plant and its many versatile properties. Using her background in cosmetology and a love for baking and plants, Stinger decided she would combine her passions to create her own line of products — products she hoped would help women feel and look their best.
