Klay Thompson knocked down five quick 3s in Sunday’s game against the Portland Trail Blazers.
PORTLAND — Klay Thompson was made aware after the Warriors’ win over the Kings on Friday how close he was from reaching 300 3-pointers in a season for the first time.“That’s be awesome,” Thompson said. “I mean, how many guys have done that in the history of the game?” I’m not going to really shoot for it.”And that’s what he did — and in a hurry — Sunday against the Portland Trail Blazers.
Playing in front of a dozen or more friends and family, Thompson buried five 3-pointers in the opening five minutes of Sunday’s game, making him only the third player in NBA history to make 300 in a season. Thompson joined Stephen Curry, who’s done it four times, and James Harden, who’s done it once.
