An alarming number of children are still testing positive for the coronavirus, according to new data.
“The number of new child COVID cases remains exceptionally high,” thesaid last week. “Over 148,000 cases were added the past week, with over 750,000 child cases added over the past 4 weeks.”
Health experts say the increase in pediatric cases is caused by the highly transmissible Delta variant, relaxed restrictions, and ineligibility for children under 12 to get vaccines.
