Avs aren’t the real enemy in St. Louis, where fans have never forgiven Stan Kroenke: via markkiszla

When the Avs take the ice in St. Louis, Blues fans aren’t booing Cale Makar so much as giving voice to grievances with the Kroenke family sports empire. Please allow me to say: A whole lot of Colorado fans who wish they could watch Nikola Jokic on television feel your pain, St. Louis.

Hey, Kiz. I’m not one of your haters, but your Ken doll column on coach Jared Bednar after the Avs lost Game 2 to St. Louis made you look like a guy looking to get a rise out of us hockey nuts. Colorado lost one game! Bednar has coached the Avs to the No. 1 seed in the West. If Nathan MacKinnon doesn’t score in a playoff game, should the Avalanche trade him? I think you must win four games in every series, so leave Bedsy alone for now. BTW: Bednar is a lot better looking than you. Not me.

Here are five reasons the Avs won’t win the Stanley Cup. No. 1: Pretty, not gritty. Works in the regular season, not the playoffs. No. 2: Haven’t seen a champion with four greyhounds on the blue line. No. 3: Coaching. You nailed Bednar’s flaws after the Game 2 loss. No. 4: Competitiveness. Going to the dirty areas on ice takes a certain type of player, and the Avs don’t have enough of them. No. 5: Goalie, goalie, goalie. Darcy Kuemper isn’t good enough.

I’ve read your stuff since I was in high school and have followed you on Twitter. Have come to the conclusion you’re a bitter . So divisive and rude, whether the topic is COVID vaccines or sports performances or how journalists do their jobs. Many sports fans prefer journalists who cheer for the hometown teams. I get it. Homerism in sports journalism is older than your grandfather’s leather football helmet. And that’s cool by me.
