Tarrant County jurors are deliberating Wednesday the fate of former Fort Worth police officer Aaron Dean after lawyers made closing arguments at his murder trial.
“As I looked through that window, low in the window, I observed a person — couldn’t tell Black, white, male, female,” he said. “The upper arms were moving like someone was reaching for something or grasping.” Zion, now 11, said on the stand the two were up late playing video games and left the doors open to air out smoke after burning hamburgers at dinnertime.
Dean and Officer Carol Darch responded to the home and noticed cabinets strewn open and thought the home had been burglarized, she testified. She told jurors they did not announce their presence in case a burglar was still in the home, although she also said the two didn’t talk much and she followed his lead. Darch did not see damage on the open doors consistent with forced entry, she said.
