Kevin Bacon, a 200-pound pet pig of the Rumbaugh family, has been missing in Gettysburg since Saturday. Chelsea Rumbaugh was on the hunt for Kevin Bacon just before midnight Tuesday, set up in a barn in Gettysburg, with a buffet ready to lure him in.
The Rumbaughs already had three other pigs when they spotted him for sale online for a cool $50. Seemed liked a bargain, Chelsea said, for a 100-pound pig. So, after some quick thinking, she decided to go check him out. If she could fit him in the back of her Kia, onto some plastic, blankets and a dog hammock that she had laid down, she would bring him home.
But, she said, as soon as they turned their back, Kevin made a break for it, somehow escaping their barn and making his way to a nearby campground.Kevin Bacon takes a nap before making a run for it in Gettysburg. If you see Kevin, his family is asking for help bringing him home. “By far,” Rumbaugh said with a laugh late Tuesday after she was asked if Kevin was the biggest troublemaker in their pig pen. “None of the others have ever caused a ruckus like this. We did not know what we were getting into with him.”
She remained confident Kevin Bacon would be found late Tuesday and was already making plans — her husband has built a special pen for him — for how they could counteract his cunning the next time around.
