A 31-year-old Kenai woman died Sunday evening after she was struck by a pickup with a plow during whiteout conditions on a snowy road, Alaska State Troopers say.
, with Kenai and vicinity seeing more than 20 inches by Monday morning as well as large drifts due to wind.
Stephanie Anderson was walking along Kalifornsky Beach Road in the area of Pirate Lane when the pickup collided with her, troopers said. Anderson was wearing dark clothing.There was about 18 inches of snow on the road and whiteout conditions were occurring, troopers said. The truck’s driver stopped and tried to render aid to Anderson but she was pronounced dead at the scene.
