Obituary: Ken Behring’s search for a purpose led to a charity helping people regain mobility
To establish himself as a used-car dealer in the late 1940s, Ken Behring rented a muddy field along a highway in Monroe, Wis., and converted a chicken coop into his office. He had to scrape chicken droppings off the walls before he could paint them.
