Bill Self, whose Kansas team is the defending men’s national champion, will miss his team’s Big 12 tournament quarterfinal Thursday after being hospitalized because of an illness, the school announced.
“They said he’s doing well this morning,” junior guard and floor quarterback Dajuan Harris said.“We all knew he was okay,” Big 12 player of the year Jalen Wilson said. “We all talked about it this morning. I have no doubt he’ll be okay. He’s a tough guy.
“No, not really,” Roberts said. “Not before the game. But the whole thing with Coach is we go over the scouting report and we talk about what we’re going to do, what we need to do. I’ve scouted West Virginia for the past 12 years” — since Roberts joined Kansas for the second time in his career — “so I kind of know them pretty good. So I kind of knew what Coach would want, and we had done some things this week that I knew kind of what he wanted to do.
