The state Department of Agriculture issued a stop sale order because the spray was not properly registered, leaving the supermarket chain stuck with more than 17,000 cases of it.

The dispute stems from Weis in October and November 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic placing nine purchase orders for 24,192 cases of spray with shipment to begin Jan. 1, 2021. Due to a decrease in demand for the product, Weis sought to cancel the five remaining purchase orders after receiving shipments of the first four.

Two months after the settlement was signed the Lees dissolved SF. Weis claims the assets were used to compensate the Lees and SF’s creditors, one of which was Tatanka.
