Shapiro, in joint appearance with Gov. Tom Wolf, talks transition, working with Legislature.

Governor-elect Shapiro and Lt. Gov.-elect Davis announce administration transition plansJosh Shapiro’s victory parade came to the home office Wednesday.

Wolf, in his turn, expressed confidence in Shapiro’s ability to build on that foundation in the future. They are: Akbar Hossain, policy director for the just-completed gubernatorial campaign, as executive director of the transition; Campaign’s finance director Amanda Warren as executive director of the Inauguration; and campaign press secretary Manuel Bonder as top spokesman for both the transition and inauguration.

Reprising his victory speech from last week, Shapiro did praise Pennsylvania voters for “in a decisive and historic way, standing up to extremism, defending real freedom, and searching for common ground,” and noted that now the onus is on he and Davis to meet those expectations. Shapiro said Wednesday he had a good talk with the incoming-Senate President Pro Tempore Kim Ward, R-Westmoreland County. Ward’s press spokeswoman Erica Clayton Wright confirmed later that the two spoke by phone.

With that, the governor-elect’s first public appearance in the Capitol was over. Shapiro headed back into the governor’s office suite, knowing that he’ll be doing this many more times.
