The 44-year-old suspect can fly airplanes. According to the Federal Aviation Administration, Emerson has an airline pilot transport license and a separate license to fly a single-engine plane.Records also indicated Emerson has an address in Pleasant Hill, California, which is about 30 miles east of San Francisco.Alaska Air provided a timeline of Emerson's career.
"He seems like a really nice guy. Nothing abnormal about him. Very caring, loves his kids. They're very nice to our grandson when he's over there." said Ed Yee. "It was very shocking. Like, anything that out of the norm, basically, that something this big is very, very shocking basically." During the pandemic in 2020, Emerson posted on X, "The future of air travel remains highly depressed. Immediate relief for the airline industry is critical." He tagged the White House and then Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and other lawmakers.
