Victor Timely is important to Loki season 2.

One of the biggest Marvel Cinematic Universe shows is getting close to finally returning from its long hiatus, as Loki season 2 is less than a month away from its season premiere.
With only a couple of weeks to go, one of the co-executive producers for Loki season 2 has offered some new insight about Majors' latest Kang variant. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Kevin Wright talked about how excited the creative team was to take on Victor Timely in Loki season 2 and how they are adapting him into the MCU.
Victor Timely is somebody that we are very, very excited about. When you look at Kang, he has a very funny comic backstory. He has all these iterations. Timely was one that we’ve always wanted to do in Loki. And I think we’re really excited about how that integrates into the season. It’s a big part of the show.
Whether Victor is the main villain for Loki season 2 remains to be seen, as it is still unclear what other threats Loki will be dealing with this year. However, given Kang's big bad status in The Multiverse Saga, it wouldn't come as a shock if this is what the writers will build to throughout the season. To this point, Marvel Studios have been keeping details on Victor's storyline under wraps, hence why Wright is stressing what a big deal he will be in Loki season 2.
The question that remains is whether the potential defeat of Victor in Loki season 2 will set up the arrival of the next Kang variant. The bigger surprise would be if Loki season 2 somehow ends with Victor still alive and saved for another MCU movie or TV show in Phases 5 or 6. The world will know soon enough how Victor factors into Loki season 2 as the MCU show approaches its premiere.
