More than 50 people are expected to be laid off.
The company is closing the facility at 1838 Colonial Village Lane in East Lampeter Township.
“We are ceasing production at our Lancaster, Pennsylvania, facility by April 2023 in connection with updates we have made to our Consumer Health supply chain network to better meet the needs of consumers and customers,” Johnson & Johnson Consumer Health, said in a statement.The company filed a WARN notice with the Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry informing the state it plans to lay off 57 people.
The layoffs are expected to take place in phases beginning on or around April 28 and culminating on or around December 31. The WARN Act is federal legislation that offers protection to workers, their families and communities by requiring employers to provide notice 60 days in advance of a covered-business closing and covered-business mass layoff.
