Cincinnati loves its sports icons and right now there are arguably none as popular as Joe Burrow and Elly De La Cruz.
CINCINNATI - The Bengals quarterback recently showed some support for the Reds shortstop -- in multiple ways-- that undoubtedly left fans of both teams giddy.of EDLC posing with an autographed Burrow jersey. On his number nine, Burrow wrote: "To Elly: Keep Turning Up The City."
Burrow was asked about the gesture following his team's mini-camp practice on Tuesday and had nothing but praise for De La Cruz, while also drawing a comparison between both resurgent franchises. "He’s an exciting player," Burrow said of EDLC. "I think their last season to this season feels a lot like our 2020 to 2021 with the excitement they’re bringing to the city. You can feel that energy. I went to a game on Friday and was a lot of fun. Hopefully they can keep winning. He’s going to keep doing his thing. It’s fun to watch."Of course, Burrow previously paid homage to De La Cruz.
