MANILA, Philippines — Jia De Guzman confirmed her national team return, saying she will play in the AVC Challenge Cup slated from May 22 to 29 at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum.
De Guzman is one of the thousands in attendance for the Game 2 finals of her Creamline team against Choco Mucho in the 2024 PVL All-Filipino Conference Finals at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on May 12.'Yes, I'm going to play in the upcoming AVC Challenge Cup and I know, very little preparation but we're going to give our best despite that,' said De Guzman , who last played for the national team in the Southeast Asian Games in Cambodia last year.
Cup 2024 and she reflected on her volleyball stint in the Land of the Rising Sun as well as her battles against fellow Filipino import Jaja Santiago of JT Marvelous.'It was pretty challenging but I'm really grateful that I got to learn from the Japanese style of volleyball and I learned a lot from them so hopefully I can share here in the Philippines what I've learned,' said De Guzman.'I've seen Jaja play.
