Jets coach Robert Saleh and quarterback Aaron Rodgers seemed to have a different take on what went wrong for the Jets on Sunday.
After their best offensive start in decades, the Jets proved Sunday that they are still very much a work in progress with Aaron Rodgers under center.
Everyone agrees the Jets need to get it cleaned up after their 13 penalties for 91 yards was a huge reason they lost a game they should have won.But when it comes to the pre-snap issues, specifically, the quarterback and coach seemed to have different ideas for how to fix it. Rodgers was asked about Saleh suggesting the Jets might need to reevaluate their pre-snap cadence approach, and he seemed to disagree with his coach.
“It’s been a weapon,” Rodgers said. “We use it every day in practice. We rarely have a false start, and to have five , it seemed like four or five, it seems like an outlier. I don’t know if we need to make mass changes based on kind of an outlier game.” Just look at what running back Breece Hall had to say when explainig his pre-snap struggles Sunday against a Broncos team that blitzes opposing quarterbacks at a higher rate than any other team in the NFL.
