Jenna Bush Hager tells Hoda Kotb about the valuable lessons her husband Henry is teaching their kids by running an ice cream stand and donating the profits to charity.
Jenna Bush Hager’s husband Henry teaches their kids using ice cream. “Henry Hager started the tradition of the ice cream stand that my kids do,” Jenna told her TODAY co-host Hoda Kotb on Aug. 15. Jenna and Henry Hager children are Mila, 11, Poppy, 9, and Henry, 5. As Jenna explained, Henry and the kids recently visited an ice cream shop in Martha’s Vineyard in Massachusetts. “He was like, ‘This place is so expensive — watch this!’” Jenna told Hoda.
“By the way, Henry — he’s teaching lessons, man,” said Hoda, who ran a lemonade stand with her own daughters Haley, 7, and Hope, 5, in 2022. “That’s a good one.” The Hager household teaches money management early. Last year, Mila begged her parents for her own debit card and was tactical when her parents said no. “Mila wanted a Greenlight card ... it’s a debit card without any responsibilities ... but they can also learn to invest,” Jenna told Hoda.
