No problem at all., when the only thing more frequent than Doncic’s scoring might’ve been his finger twirling, Kidd admitted he wasn’t sure the 23-year-old superstar understood the NBA allots coaches only one challenge per game.
He knows coaches can challenge personal fouls against their team, out-of-bounds calls and goaltending or basket interference. He has challenged calls in nine of the Mavericks’ 27 games this season, winning five and losing four. That came in the fourth quarter, when officials first ruled Christian Wood’s block on Thunder star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander a goaltending violation. They overturned the decision after Kidd’s request for review showed Wood swatted the shot after it clanged off the front of the rim.
