It's report card time. Check out the grades from the Jaguars' Sunday afternoon victory against the Texans in Houston.
Etienne had the day’s biggest highlight, going 62 yards almost untouched for a touchdown in the second quarter and a 14-0 lead.
Also, WR Christian Kirk eclipsed the 1,000-receiving yards mark. He needed 12 yards coming into the game, and had two receptions for 21 yards. He's just the sixth receiver in Jaguars history to go for more than 1,000 receiving yards in a season. The Jaguars jumped out to their largest halftime lead of the season at 21-0, largely on the strength of a big-play defense.
Two plays after Etienne’s breakaway TD, invigorated pass-rusher Josh Allen took over the team sack lead by forcing a Davis Mills fumble that bounced around the turf, finally getting picked up by Tyson Campbell and taken to the end zone for a 12-yard score. Houston challenged that Claybrooks, who touched the goal line with both feet, didn’t reestablish getting back to the field of play, but the ruling stood.
Riley Patterson had two touchbacks on six kickoff attempts and made his only attempt from 53 yards in the fourth quarter.Doug Pederson never wavered in his stance of not resting any starters, unless they had some kind of injury issue that might do a player more harm than good.
