Following their Super Bowl performance, both Jennifer Lopez and Shakira saw massive jumps in online streams and sales.
Shakira's music increased by 230 percent, and J-Lo's music increased by 335 percent on Spotify compared to the week prior, according to a Spotify spokesperson.
Unsurprisingly, the hits sang during the halftime show saw the biggest increases. Shakira's"Empire" was a standout from the event, in terms of Spotify streams. It saw a whopping 2,135 percent increase from the week before, dwarfing the increased streams from the other singles. Despite not meeting the same number of streams as"Empire," the other songs Shakira performed still saw massive spikes."She Wolf" increased by over 905 percent.
Besides steaming, the two artists saw a massive increase in sales for their catalogs. In total, their sales increased by 893 percent on Super Bowl Sunday,On February 2, Shakira sold 13,000 downloads, over a 900 percent increase from just over 1,000 downloads sold on February 1. Lopez sold 8,000 downloads, an 800 percent increase from just under 1,000 downloads on February 1.
