Ivana Trump, the first wife of former President Donald Trump and the mother of his three oldest children, died on Thursday at her home at age 73.

The Medical examiner has ruled the death an accident, saying she apparently died from a fall and sustained blunt trauma to her body,“Our mother was an incredible woman — a force in business, a world-class athlete, a radiant beauty, and caring mother and friend,” the Trump family said in a joint statement to news outlets.
Born Ivana Marie Zelníčková, she grew up under communist rule in Czechoslovakia, in a town now known as Zlin located in the Czech Republic. She left the country in the 1970s as a talented skier and model and later married Donald Trump in 1977, accordingIn the 1980s, Ivana Trump worked as a senior executive in Trump’s business empire and was appointed CEO of Trump’s Castle, one of the hotel casinos in Atlantic City.
“She was a wonderful, beautiful, and amazing woman, who led a great and inspirational life,” he wrote. “Her pride and joy were her three children, Donald Jr., Ivanka, and Eric. She was so proud of them, as we were all so proud of her. Rest in peace, Ivana!”
