July 25, 2022The Miracle League of Western Pennsylvania is one of 325 programs across the U.S., Canada, Puerto Rico and Mexico. The scene—a small crowd cheering as the sun sets on a ballfield—looks like thousands of others unfolding across the country on summer evenings.
“I tell people, if you want to see joy, come to a game. You see their faces literally light up when they hit the ball.” After he hits and scores, he goes out to the pitcher and pats his back, thanking him for a good pitch. “I’m 13 and still going strong,” he says.
