Several top commanders for Hamas have been killed in recent airstrikes by Israel, according to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).
Ayman Nofal was killed in a strike in the Bureji refugee camp in central Gaza Tuesday, Hamas confirmed.

Israel has started bombing areas of southern Gaza where it had told Palestinians to flee ahead of an expected ground invasion. The Israeli military said it was targeting Hamas hideouts, infrastructure and command centers. “When we see a target, when we see something moving that is Hamas, we’ll take care of it," Lt. Col. Richard Hecht, an Israeli military spokesman, said.
