Israeli officials are preparing to evacuate residents of northern Israel living close to the border with Lebanon, indicating growing moves to prepare for a second front with Lebanese militant group Hezbollah. A day earlier, Israel told civilians that they couldn't come within 2.5 miles of the Lebanese border, where clashes with Hezbollah forces are escalating, and told those living there to stay close to shelters. They will now be moved to boarding houses, the Israeli military and Ministry of Defense said. Israel Defense Forces spokesperson Peter Lerner said that that there had been several attacks from Hezbollah and that the IDF was continuing to monitor the situation.
