Israeli tanks surrounded several hospitals in northern Gaza on Friday. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel doesn’t “seek to occupy Gaza.”

Three hospitals — al-Nasr, al-Rantisi, and the Eye Hospital — have evacuated after Israeli tanks surrounded the buildings, followed by Israeli warnings instructing inhabitants to leave, said Bakr Qaoud, the director of al-Nasr. The Israel Defense Forces sent the director of al-Rantisi a map showing the safe evacuation route for all three hospitals, which are located next to each other, Qaoud told The Post in a phone call.

Red Cross ambulances transported several artificial ventilation cases to al-Shifa, as the doctors sought more time to get as many people out as possible — the majority, around 4,000, left via the evacuation route, but a few cases that were too critical and immobile were left behind, Qaoud said. Qaoud described hearing bombardment getting closer to the facility, with whole cars going up in flames, as thousands of doctors, nurses, medical workers, displaced and wounded headed out of their shelter.
