Israel is facing mounting pressure to increase aid to Gaza after admitting to making grave mistakes in a drone strike that killed seven aid workers. The US-based charity World Central Kitchen, whose staff were killed in the strike, is calling for an independent commission to investigate the incident.

The toughened US position followed the killing of the World Central Kitchen workers -- an Australian, three Britons, a North American, a Palestinian and a Pole.
