Xbox feels…a little strange now. In the course of a few years it has let its biggest franchises largely fade into the background while acquiring at least a dozen of the most iconic franchises in the video game industry.
But in the 343 era, that changed. The Halo games never quite landed the same way, even if they still sold well, and that all culminated in Halo Infinite, a deeply strange game where the Master Chief campaign felt likerather than its own thing, and its multiplayer landed in a rough state that has taken a few years to fix. Even then, players have not exactly been flooding back.
I feel like we exist in a console war bubble of snark on places like Twitter, where Starfield is viewed as some sort of middling game with a not-90 metascore and hidden sales figures. And yet everything I see about the game indicates it’s a huge success. It isSteam
