Mahomes finished the game by going 21-of-27 with 182 passing yards and three passing touchdowns, adding 44 yards on the ground as well. 26 of those rushing yards came on aby Mahomes that set up the game-winning field goal—he pushed through an injured ankle to put his team in position to win.
Mahomes became the youngest starting quarterback to win two Super Bowls and two NFL MVPs. He is one of only four starting quarterbacks to have accomplished that feat, joining names such as Joe Montana, Peyton Manning, and Tom Brady. In five seasons as a starter, Mahomes has reached the AFC Championship game all five years, winning three of them. He has made three Super Bowl appearances in those five seasons.
Mahomes plays the quarterback position in a way that no one has ever seen before, and at such a young age as well—similar to when Jordan burst onto the scene in the 80s. Mahomes plays with some mechanics and techniques that are frowned upon by quarterback gurus galore—his no-look passes, throwing across his body accurately, falling forward and still throwing accurately, etc.
