Officers made the grisly discovery around 9:15 a.m. Monday while checking on the welfare of people in a home on the 4100 block of Alameda de las Pulgas, police said.

Officers went to the home in the 4100 block of Alameda de las Pulgas around 9:15 a.m. after receiving a 911 call, said San Mateo police spokesperson Jerami Surratt. Surratt said officers arrived to find no open doors or any signs of forced entry. The bodies were discovered inside the residence.The case appears to be “an isolated incident,” Surratt said, adding that there was no reason for public concern.”“We are very saddened to learn the news of our neighbors and are holding them and their family and loved ones in our prayers,” said Jennifer Hornbeck, pastor of the nearby Transfiguration Episcopal Church on Alameda de las Pulgas.
The 4100 block of Alameda de las Pulgas will be closed from 42nd Avenue to Rolling Hills Avenue until later this evening while police conduct an investigation.
