The Meteor is on the ground floor of a new apartment building in the Dallas Design District called Urby.
Zell explains it this way: “It’s like finding the right fisherman if you want to do great seafood. We’ve got a long-standing relationship we can trust [with Intelligentsia],” he says.The core of the shop is espresso and breakfast tacos. It’s so fashionable, though, that it should easily grab a lunch crowd, which will segue into wine-after-work meet-ups, then dinner. Zell says the natural wine selection is as robust as the coffee.
At other Meteor locations, the cycling community is a significant part of the identity. Here in Dallas, Meteor will have a boutique bike shop inside Urby, and Meteor director of operations Andrew Werth plans to organize group bike rides that start and end in the Design District.
