More than a dozen children were hurt when an inflatable slide tipped over, police said. At least one child suffered a broken leg.
The slide tipped over during Wyandanch School District's field day at the town park on Mount Avenue at about 9:45 a.m. Surveillance video shows the scary moment the slide fell over while children were on it."They told us to get out and told us to sit down," Armstrong said. "There were too much people."
At least one child was brought to the hospital for a broken leg and others were treated for minor injuries, officials said. "Eleven people were treated here by a field physician from Suffolk County Fire Rescue and then we had seven people that transported," said Paul Miller, Suffolk County Fire Rescue deputy coordinator.18 children suffered minor injuries when an inflatable slide collapsed in Wyandanch, Long Island."It tilted to the side and then it fell," she said. The Brown family isn't the only one asking questions. One parent thought the inflatables weren't staked.
But Jaequan White with Jump Around Party Rentals, the company that supplied the inflatables, said they were properly staked and sandbagged. However, he said someone should've been supervising. He said the school district declined to use the company's attendants.
