Indoor golf simulator venue X-Golf joins Katy's growing stable of sports entertainment
Gameplay at the tech-heavy venue involves hitting a golf ball in a simulated course, the company’s website says.
Players hit a ball from a tee on a mock green into a screen directly in front of them. Once the ball is hit, X-Golf uses a combination of light, lasers, impact sensors and cameras to collect data and create a virtual trajectory for the ball. “This new technology measures not only the motion vector of the golf ball, but also the movement of the golf club such as path, angle of attack, trajectory and velocity,” a press release from the company said. “Following the laws of physics, these measurements allow us to perfectly replicate the golf ball flight—fade, draw, hook, slice.”
X-Golf also offers a full restaurant and bar onsite. The restaurant offers casual fare like chicken tenders, pizza, fries, artichoke dips, crab rangoon and more.The TDLR filing shows construction on the 8,196-square-foot facility may begin later this month and be completed mid-August.
