Panagbenga festival returns to the streets with a vibrant Grand Float parade
On Sunday morning, more than 20 participants showcased their unique floats along Session Road, Harrison Road, and the Melvyn Jones Grandstand and Football Field in the City of Pines.was a seven-meter-long float with over 3,000 bundles of flowers with a phoenix-themed design, symbolizing Baguio's rapid recovery from the effects of COVID-19.
The Panagbenga festival is an annual flower festival celebrated every February in Baguio as an ode to the city’s flowers. The word "Panagbenga" originated from the Kankanaey dialect, which translates to English as "season of blooming."
