She says she was told by Ward that she was in violation of Carta's"no-asshole policy" and that she was"like an alcoholic who needed to admit her problem and have a full-scale recovery from being an asshole" or else leave the company.
While Han was being recruited, he alleged, Ward promised him higher compensation and repeatedly assured him that he wouldn't be demoted or replaced. In a deposition taken for the case, Ward said he terminated Han because after the proposed demotion, Han"went out and cried about it to everyone." Soon after, Walne said, she was told her compensation would be cut by 35% and given 24 hours to accept the new arrangement. She decided to leave the company. A Carta spokesperson declined to comment on Walne's allegations.
