The ultimate villain of One Piece has unleashed their awesome power with a demonstration whose effects have shaken every island in Luffy's world.
Warning: Spoilers For One Piece Manga #1089Imu, the secret ruler of the World Government, has finally shown off their terrifying power with an attack that was felt throughout every ocean on One Piece's planet. The current manga arc sheds some light on Imu and the Five Elder's mysterious abilities while murdering Alabasta's King Cobra. However, the world's rulers failed to capture and extinguish the Revolutionary Army's Chief-of-Staff and brother of Luffy, Sabo.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT By redirecting his communications, Sabo was able to avoid being caught in Imu's attack, but the entire island of Lulusia and its residents were not so lucky. Chapter #1089 of One Piece shows the gaping hole in the ocean where the island once resided as well as the effects its sudden absence is having on the world's ocean and the islands that live on it...for now.
Imu Unleashes An Earth-Shaking Attack to Kill Sabo Although the last chapter ended with Luffy's first meeting with the Five Elders, chapter #1089 begins by showing citizens from all over One Piece's world reacting to an earthquake of unparalleled destruction. Imu's attack left an enormous hole in the ocean that doesn't seem to be filling up with water, instead leaving a large gap in the water, effectively raising the planet's sea level to rise a meter.
Luffy And The World Are In Trouble If Imu Can Use Their Weapon More The apocalyptic weapon Imu used against Lulusia clearly needs some power source to fire. Otherwise, the World Government would have used its power more often. The Elders have expressed the desire for Dr.Vegapunk's creation, The Mother Flame, which seems capable of providing more ammo for their weapon of mass destruction. If that's the case, the stakes of Luffy's battle on Egghead Island are higher than ever.
