IHSAA boys basketball tournament: These 10 Indiana teams (plus five more) received an advantageous sectional draw

Here are 10 teams with an advantageous draw in next week’s sectional:The Dragons had to be thrilled to see where their name came up on the Class 4A Sectional 9 draw at Muncie Central, a seven-team field that is as balanced and interesting as any in the class.
Lurking on the other side is Ben Davis, which has to tangle with Southport in the first round Wednesday before seeing either Perry Meridian or Franklin Central . Pike, in its first game of the season, played Ben Davis close in a 59-55 loss. Coach Bill Zych’s team is led by senior guard Devon Woods , 6-6 senior Joseph Annan and junior Cam Casky .
One of Munster’s two losses came to Lake Central , which could be a sectional semifinal matchup. Hammond Central is led by 1,000-point scorer Jordan Woods. If the Wolves can get through the sectional, they have a good path to get to the semistate and potentially see Markus Burton and second-ranked Penn .The Class A eighth-ranked Saints host Sectional 59 and will play either Eminence or Providence Cristo Rey in Friday’s semifinal.
The favorites in Class 3A Sectional 29 at Greensburg is fourth-ranked Connersville with host Greensburg as a potential darkhorse pick. Connersville is 6-0 against the sectional field, including a three-point win over Greensburg.
