'Its completely inappropriate, it's reckless, it's irresponsible, it's misinformed, and it's flat out wrong,' ICE executive director Mark Morgan said.
The acting director of the country's Immigration and Custom Enforcement harshly criticized New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez on Tuesday for her comparison of border detention facilities to concentration camps.
"The fact that concentration camps are now an institutionalized practice in the home of the free is extraordinarily disturbing and we need to do something about it," she said. "I encourage the check and balance, I encourage inspections," Morgan said."I feel very satisfied that if you go to these facilities, whether it's a border patrol facility or an [Health and Human Services] facility or an ICE facility that there will be safe and adequate conditions to detain individuals."
