Summary I Don't Understand You is a new horror comedy making its debut at the 2024 South By Southwest Festival. Using their own experience during a trip to Italy as a launching point, writers and directors Brian Crano and David Craig let their imaginations run wild to tell the story of a gay couple whose 'Baby Moon' before they adopt a new child goes horribly wrong.

Brian Crano: We were going to Italy for a trip, we were about to adopt a baby, and we got stuck in a ditch in rural Italy. Yeah, all the first act happened, and we got so freaked out because we're so used to being comfortable Silver Lake Americans that we just thought we were going to get killed. And then we kept telling all our friends this, and they were like, "That's a horror movie. You have to make a horror movie." So we did.

Nick Kroll: I've been selling it as The Crying Game 2. That sort of thing's like, "When you watch it, don't tell everybody what it means." Also, having David and Brian there with us who have such a clear vision for what the film was going to be. And also we are surrogates, to some extent, for them. And so being able to watch them and see their dynamic was helpful in establishing what the relationship was, as well as bringing our own relationships into this.
