One eastbound lane will be shut down daily from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday to Friday this week, the New Jersey Department of Transportation says. A westbound lane will be closed during those same hours on Monday only.
That will put the highway down to one lane in each direction between mile markers 0.8 and 1.4 before the S-curve that winds between Mount Tammany and the Delaware River.ahead of repairs. The 70-year-old retaining wall is located along the river between Knowlton and Hardwick townships. The NJDOT previously said it has been making emergency repairs on the wall since March 2020, but further deterioration led to a $56 million emergency repair plan. Our journalism needs your support.
