The judges have spoken
The electric e-GMP architecture has been a succcessful one for Hyundai and Kia. Products bourne for that chassis have been recieving awards left and right, and the models derived from it have been shifting good sales numbers.
Hyundai can add another trophy to the e-GMP range. That's because the Ioniq 5 N just won the 2024 World Performance Car of the Year title. That brings the platform's title count to three with the Ioniq 5 winning World Car of the Year in 2022 and the Ioniq 6 bagging the same award the year after.
The 2024 edition of World Performance Car of the Year was filled with tough competition. Still, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N sits on top of a strong field. Aside from this latest accolade, the high-performance EV also won TopGear.com's Car of the Year and was recorded as the fastest electric crossover to lap the Nürburgring Nordschiefe.
As for the local market, the Hyundai N division is slowly making its presence felt. The first of the high-performance Hyundais set to land in the country is the Elantra N. The follow up model is yet to be determined, but the Ioniq 5 N could be in the pipeline given the company's EV push.
