According to the Wayne County Coroner's Office, on Tuesday, Oct. 17 at 10:31 a.m., human remains were unearthed on the property at 95 Peet Road in Dreher Township.On Wednesday,. Oct. 18,
the Mercyhurst University Forensic Sciences Team arrived at the scene and worked with the Coroner's Office, Pennsylvania State Police and other authorities to recover the remains. The Coroner's Office said that from the beginning of the investigation, authorities believed the identity of the skeletal remains to be that of Stephen C. Lepore of Tobyhanna, who has been missing since August of 2012.
Today, the Coroner's Office announced that they had positively identified the remains to be that of Lepore. His cause of death is listed as a gunshot wound to the head.
